Parnassus Cores Recharge Request Form DRC.doc

Equipment, training and assistance is available to all upon the proper completion of authorization form, signed by your PI. From the form, we can set-up your account on the scheduler. Once training is completed and you have been authorized by your PI for equipment use, you may reserve services at http://microscopeschedule.ucsf.edu by following the reservation instructions.

OPERATIONS POLICY

Saving Data:  Data must be saved onto external drives or to user servers. Any data accumulated on the hard disk of the computer can be deleted at any time in order to ensure that there is sufficient hard-drive space for microscope operation.

Avoid double bookings:  Users should be sure to click ‘confirm reservation’ when logging on to a microscope that they have previously scheduled. Clicking ‘create new reservation’ provides two entries onto the scheduling read-out. Although the Core attempts to identify and scrub those duplicate entries for the purposes of recharge determinations, it is preferable that the duplicate entries never are placed.

No-shows will be charged: Reserving a system and then not using it prevents others from conducting their studies. Core policy is to recharge time used according to the maximum of 75-percent of your scheduled time or the time used (recorded when you log-in/log-out of your session; please remember to log-out). This policy applies during all hours, including weekends.

Discounted fees for non-business hours use:  The Core encourages investigators to use microscopes outside of heavy use times. All minutes used between
the hours of 8 pm and 8 am are recharged at two-thirds the standard rate, as are all times used on the weekend (8 pm Friday to 8 am Monday).
